Most teachers grade students based on the quality of their work. For any missed multiple-choice question, students are prompted to write themselves problem solving hints. This process is essential to help students put what they learn into their own words. In the lesson reports, teachers can view what percent of the time students write themselves hints (clearly the goal is as close to 100%). Teachers can also see the hints students are writing themselves: students can login, go to their Mistake Bank, click to generate a personalized study guide, and then either print the study guide or save it as a PDF to email to their teachers. Teachers can then review the hints students are writing themselves to evaluate the quality of their notes and to provide feedback.
After students do corrections notes for timed practice sections, teachers frequently have students put together songs, presentations, or posters to present to the class with the top tips they’ve learned. It’s a great way to make the review process more engaging and interactive, and it provides another grading opportunity for teachers.
